Tell me I can't.... so I can show you I can!

I am well aware that the treatments I have sought out for Gabby are not accepted among the majority of the autism community.  I am not one to conform...... if I thought burning a bra in protest would help, I would burn down Victoria Secret (joke, insert giggle) !!! :)

When I first started my research into the basic concepts of autism, I read and reread that it is unclear where autism comes from. After billions and billions of dollars there are no concrete answers, unless you count vaccines don't cause autism..... which the studies that have been done... were funded by big pharm! Everyone has their own theory on vaccines. I personally don't think vaccines cause autism, I do believe they contribute to it. I "think" that if you already have a body not working up to it's full capacity (which can not always be seen by the naked eye) a vaccine can injury an already weakened immune system. Honestly, I don't think a doctors option can be backed up anymore then mine could. I know when Gabby was born she had acid reflux, and later massive bouts of diarrhea that could melt paint of a wall. The smell of her urine smelled much like fesses. I believe that when I vaccinated her I sent her immune system over board. This may sound like crazy talk, but when I started the GFCFSF (gluten, casein, soy free) diet, and holistic supplements the horrifying smell that came from her diaper disappeared (yes, all shit stinks but not to the degree hers did). Granted, I also pulled out dyes, msg, apples, and peanuts at the same time. When I worked on repairing her gut, her body was able to absorb the nutrients of the food her body needed. Therefor it was able to fuel the brain. Now, this may sound absurd but can you give me another explanation on why she no longer, pulls out her eye lashes, picks her ears till they bleed, bangs her head, can  handle being toughed, sleeps through the night, now has adequate speech, doesn't cry all day, and could usually cope with someone making eye contact???? These changes all took place within months. Now, I am not here to blow smoke so let me point out a few things. Gabby is high functioning, her body may not need the same as another child's on the spectrum. Each child is different and it's not a one size fits all. It's a matter of finding out where you child's needs lye.
Last night I watched the trailer to Loving Lampposts on youtube, this video like so many others within the autism community have the belief that their child is perfect just the way they are. That this diet means they are sick and need to be fixed. I disagree, I believe that when ever you have a diagnosis of anything you moderate to accommodate their needs to be healthy. I never believed my daughter needed to be fixed, I believed I needed to equip her with the necessities to work at her full potential.  My last pediatrician would rave of the changes Gabby had made each time he saw her, but within the same breath told me he didn't think diet played any part in her progress.... This same doctor couldn't give one logical reason why she was making such wonderful progress.  That is one of the many reasons he is no longer Gabby's doctor. If you can't tell me what causes autism, how can you tell me what doesn't or what helps it????
You are either on team Gabby or your not... there is no in between!!
No matter how many times you tell me I can't....  I will show you I can!
